Fishing in the rain (seriously) - what wet weather gear?

I wouldn't skimp on the jacket. You can get a really nice and durable Carhart jacket for under a $100 that will keep you dry AAAALLLLL day long in a typhoon. As for the pants, I'd just get a cheap rubber pair at Joe's or Wal-Mart. The pants are gonna wear out fast, due to the crouching, kneeling, etc. and some good 'ol rubber boots, you'll be stylin and DRY all day.

The dude in the $500 Northface Gore-Tex matching "rain suit" will be heading for shelter while you're eating lunch in the rain....LOL

If you can hold out, wait for Cabela's, I'm SURE they'll have some sweet deals on rain gear during the Grand Opening in November.

I was just at the Puyallup Costco last night and they have the raingear now. It is a lightweight ripstop nylon waterproof breathable material. They had Blue or Gray with black pants sold together in a package for $29.95 (or something just below $30)

Yea Dilbert I just picked up that set myself. It doesn't really "repel" the rain (like it doesn't bead off) but you do stay dry. I need to put it through the paces in a downpour but for now I think it'll do. Eventually I'd like to get some guidewear or something but I just put down for a new custom rod...

i bought this jacket from SportsCo in Fife for about $100. It's a CarrHart

It's actually a very nice jacket. Has a detactable hood. Looks good and i can wear it just about anywhere. Has plenty of pockets. It's not very warm though. So I always layer up underneath if it's cold out.

I just need something for pants. That's the only thing getting wet now.

I use the BPS 100MPH gear when it pouring down rain... Costs a little more than I wanted to pay but its well worth it and lasts a long time. 2008 will be my 3 year I believe having them...
