first day guiding this fall for me on salmon, and we did great, with easy limits of nice, chrome chinook in my secret holes, the egg bite was unreal good, and the fish were blasting up the rapids into my holes all morning! Fire cure was the ticket today

Store eggs would work, but theyre not anywhere near as fresh or effective as your own cured eggs, under a float, one little splitshot, keep eggs close to the bottom

FF- have U ever fished up high well above tidal area like around Hwy 9 bridge (just downstream from the bridge)?

Been many many (many) years since fishing that area but there was a good holding hole (for salmon) just downstream of the bridge. And decent steelhead slots a bit further downstream from there but had to wade thru the channel to avoid people's private property.

Ah sorry FF . It was the mention of 'rapids' you said (from previous post) that made me curious and reflect back. The area I was foggily thinking of wasn't rapids so probably altogether different area (likely further upstream) and was from long time ago, just real skinny water so you could see the fish moving up thru the riffles and into the next holding holes.

yep you got the right idea, im lower but still same kind of small water where you can see moving fish. And yessir back to western on the 26th
