When I'm on the boat I usually bring a giant bottle of water, two sandwiches, chips, an orange rockstar recovery, a cheap cigar (I pull this out when I haven't gotten bit for a while, works most of the time) and a pack of smokes. When I'm fishing the bank it's usually a smaller bottle of water, a piece of smoked salmon or steelhead, and a cliff bar.
Now we're talkin!! I normally bring a few tasty stoges as well. They're a must for a day on the water.
ahhh stogies.. I used to light up a smoke and it worked for me too.. then i found myself chain smoking while fishing..
a whole pack in like 8 hours..
I quit smoking January 21st of this yr after well over 20 yrs. cold turkey, haven't looked back..
back on topic..
I like the cliff bars too, easy to eat and loaded with protein..

Usually when I fish I use bait or scents. You never get rid of the fish smell. I usually take peanut butter and jam. Anything with fish in the summer brings mass wasps. Anything with catsup brings wasps. Im not allergic but getting stung ruins the fishing.Hostess 6 pak mini donuts are great. Drink is water.

Wow and all this time I always forgot to eat and drink while fishing... Or maybe just forgot that I ate and drank.
Anyway if I had to eat and drink, it's a given for a couple of the cheek-warming drinks above, but I'd go with banana for potassium, some jerky, smoked fish, or salty snacks (trail mix, chips, whatever), and lots of water.

All of the above
Looked like a good list from people. I'd bring something with potassium, salt, and lots of water... Problem is it'd probably still be sitting in the car when I finished fishing.
Oh, and if I were to partake in a cheek-warming drink- beer has to be in a bottle, hard stuff preferably in a flask.
I do have a rule with drinking (moderately of course) while fishing- I don't do it when it is crowded. Love doing it alone reflecting on things or with a couple good fishing buddies.

In the float tube... peanut butter sandwich, Chips Ahoy cookies, maybe a banana ( I don't buy the whole banana = bad luck b.s.) and a couple of PBR's. On the river, same with a few more PBR's. Like knotabassturd said too...alone reflecting, or with a buddy or two. Nothing like sitting on a river in the fall, with the colors, the wind, the smells, silvers and chum jumping....tired from hooking into fish. I so look forward to fall.

Grew up on Cheese-its and Pepsi. 25 years later... Cheese-its and Pepsi. Winter fishing, substitute coffee for Cheese-its. So, is it just me, or does anybody else forget to eat, then as soon as my hand is jammed in the box, rods start bouncing?

Military MRE and water. Just beer (Schmidt) and sunflower seeds if I'am fishing close to our cabin on the lake and I don't have to drive.
