Yeah, I saw it in the mag the first day it was out, thought I'd save it for FF and totally missed it here too.... [razz]

I fished the Ben Howard hole all day Saturday.I had one good hit but that was it. We saw rollers, prolly chum. I was soaking wet by the end of the day. It snowed and rained all day. Id rather be on the river all day and not catch then doing nothing at home. Sun day I hit the green. Didnt see or hear of anything. I didnt see any fish on the Sky either.

Barnaby barely got a handful of fish back each year. It was a waste of money.

Fish reared in a hatchery have a significantly lower chance of producing viable offspring than fish spawning in the wild. So, what's the point of taking wild fish and spawning them in a hatchery? Taking wild fish, placing them in a hatchery, paying hatchery costs, and then releasing smolts that have a reduced chance of survival is stupid.

It's a FEDERAL treaty. WDFW can't do ****. You really think WDFW has the power to shut the tribes down?

They didn't get any back because they were all caught, that was when the skagit would give up a couple thousand fish a year to sportsman alone, ever since they closed it the skagit has yet to have a year with 1000 steelhead retained. With Barnaby it gave people a better chance to catch them as they would mill around rockport instead of shooting up into the cascade.

Got the skunk off on trip #2 for steel. Picked up this nice hen yesterday. Had to cover a lot of water. Hit her drifting a wobble glo at the end of my day.

I think you mean they all got caught in the NETS, they shut it down because it was a waste of money to raise all those fish just to be caught by the tribal nets and not even get enough back at the hatchery to sustain a run of fish, yet another fishery destroyed by tribal netting. Good stuff! :-&

You say this and yet EVERY SINGLE BROODSTOCK PROGRAM FROM CALIFORNIA TO ALASKA IS INCREDIBLY SUCCESSFUL.
, and now we have none. The sol duc was awesome cause it was packed with wild fish and yet you still had the chance to kill a trophy steelhead, say goodbye to that. Stupid stupid stupid

for my 4th reply in a row... a report on yesterday, Nate Treat and I did some scouting on the coast and DID NOT find fish where they are usually stacked this time of year, walked all day and found nothing, incredible that even the coast is struggling along with everything else, hmm... anyways we stopped at the humptulips hatchery on the way back to salvage the day and I got a 7lb hen, Nate got a 13lb hen and we each lost one other nice fish.

so you found some chrome at stevens creek nice job! Everytime I have fished there this year the hump was running brown or about to run brown.
Also good job 3footvis, not very many fish with wobble glos anymore that is for sure.
