Any references out there for Reel repair in NCW?? I have a Abu 3500 that needs help.

They do a GREAT JOB! Its in oregon so you gotta send them your reel but they have fixed all of mine perfectly

Thanks Freak. I'll try doing that if one closer doesn't get suggested. I live in one of those places were it a long ways from most support providers so I'm used to shipping items off.

Not sure if the Spokane area is close enough for you but I have had Val at Larry's rod and reel repair in airway heights work on my gear a few times. He has done a great job at a more than fair price. Here's a link to his swebsite.

Thanks Bodofish, but it is a sending off a package when a repair place is as far as Everett.

Thanks AJ's Dad. I think he would have worked but I had a block of free time and tore it down myself and was able to figure out I hand a worn line Pawl. It was good because it took awhile to get it figured out, maybe 3 times apart and back together. So I know that reel well now. found a part on line and now I'm ready to fish again.

John's in Everett has gone through some changes on reel repair in recent past. I called up there sometime last year, and I think the word was that the guy who did the reel repair no longer works there... back to work at Boeing or something?
If MotoBoat reads this he knows the actual facts on Johns.
Anyway... just give them a call for their repair status.

Fishinfreak, I appreciated the link to the Oregon repair place. They seemed to have a very professional looking website with lots of detail as to repair services provided. I will be hitting them up soon.

I have to add a quick story...
It's great when you meet people over the computer who have such a "Fever" or love for this fishing thing we do.
I recently got into this particular vintage model of reels, the Abu Ambassaduer 5000. Got two of them from 1970, mint condition, at the time made in Sweden.
Anyway, one of the reels had a mis threaded nut. I thought it was a more serious issue. I found a collector in the middle of no-where central Texas. I sent it to him, and he replaced the proprietary nut from his personal collection. As well as lubed/cleaned everything. NO CHARGE! Just another fishingfreak helping a brother out!
Anyway.... it was super cool.
