Girl Scout Camp

Post by ArrowNaughtic » Thu Jul 11, 2013 8:17 am

Hey guys,
Not very familiar with the area but have seen in some of the fishing reports that people are catching salmon off of Girl Scout Camp. I can't seem to find it on a map looking at Vashon. Can anyone tell me just where it is please?

I am getting antsy and have not caught a salmon in the last 4 years fishing off the clay banks and the slag piles at Point Defiance. Looking to try some new ground if possible.

I've always wondered too.

but if you haven't already seen it, I like to read, and reread this section to see if what I'm doing really compares with what is suggested. are you at least hooking into other stuff, like sharks out there?
there is some good info to read and start at the basics with here:

Thanks Dustin07,
Good links and i am assuming the Girl Scout Camp must be along Point Dalco or between the point and the ferry terminal on Vashon. I am anxious to head out next weekend for the first saltwater trip of the year, have to work this weekend to keep the gas money flowing in.
Years ago I used to launch on Friday nite at the Point Defiance launch and weekend on the water. Slept on the boat and had a full canvas on. Back then there used to be white bouys spaced out along the clay banks but they appear to have been gone for the last couple of years. Made overniting easy and at 4 am I had all the gear rigged, boat warmed up and first lines in the water by 4:15 AM. Sure beat sitting in the parade line on the hill waiting for the launches to open up, plus the long grind back uphill at the end of the day to retrieve your rig and trailer to wait in line again on the hill waiting for a launch to open up....................
Again thanks for the links, there is some good honest info there that should at least help me figure out some new fishing ground and try my luck in a close but different area.

Premium membership would show you some hotspots and links to the report.

Google maps...Camp Sealth
Look for Wannafish A Lure on FaceBook

He said, “Throw your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some.” When they did, they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish.
