fishing end of Sept.

Post by needs2hunt » Sun Aug 11, 2013 6:02 pm

I have a week off in the end of Sept. looking to go camping for at least 4 of those days... I have read the fishing reports for both Banks lake and Potholes, during the month of Sept... Out of those 2 which would you fish??? Or if you have a better lake , let me know....TIA...

Banks, if only for the reason the water can be so low on Potholes late summer like Aug., but I really don't know how low it will be in Sept./Oct.

Agree with Tom 100%. Water will be very low on Potholes making nearly all of the dunes unfishable. Banks typically fishes pretty good late Sept and early Oct.

I will be fishing Potholes from the first of September until the ice comes.
Can't wait for the fall bite.

Out of those two Banks would be the best choice. Other great opportunities in September are Lake Roosevelt or Lake Chelan. Both of these two lakes offer excellent top water action in the morning and evening as well as good fishing throughout the day.

Curlew Lake in Ferry county, near republic. Millions of bass, most stunted, but great fishing, and good eating. Good trout fishery as well, and you may catch a state record Tiger Musky while fishing for Bass if your lucky. I go there every year. The state park there is nice, good camping spots, nice bathrooms.

Dont wait yellowbear !!
The fall bite has already started on potholes brother. I was there two weeks ago and landed over 40 keepers fishing two spots . The LMB have started there migration from the dunes . Once you locate a school of bass you can catch'm on every cast . [thumbup]
