Before they blow out, the fish are going to be coming home to roost!

True fishindude and i wouldn't join the crowd that'll loudly and bitterly condemn skagit510 should he actually kill a wild steelhead and post it here. His response above is a trolling attempt in my opinion though and a weak one at that. Don't take the bait, this conversation's been had and is as productive as ones on flossing, which is not at all in my experience with these topics.

I have never bonked a native steelhead, nor has or will anyone in my boat. Ever.

me neither jd. looks like someone has too much time on their hands. i apologize for the misunderstanding, i was agitated about it and acted quickly. I'm human i guess. hopefully it gets sorted out quickly as a friend of mine sent me the link so others have seen it. and for those who will say its legal what's the big deal. well.....it is a big deal cause if you are a guide you should educatefolks and not bonk. our wild runs are on average at four percent of historical abundance. every fish counts that get by the nets. i believe this is something Nate and i see eye to eye on. furthermore i doubt any guide with a look to the long term would want to kill their business partner.

Don't worry about it. Some people have nothing better to do than pretend to be me online.

Did someone say bonk natives??? I'm in!

JUST KIDDING! LOL

It's a shame that winter run hatchery fish seem to be picking up now that most of the PS rivers are shutting down. C'est la vie, I guess. Will have to start scoping some of rivers that are farther out from home.

yes, these sweet seasonal windows brought to you by the good folks at wdfw. we here at the wdfw take a hands on approach to maximizing pressure on just a few rivers. because we know you love to fish in a crowd and bonk wild fish. lol. i swear they plan it.

Don't even joke about killing natives! You'll make some enemies really quick [-X

Yep, fishing down south is picking up for the late run. The Cowlitz, Nooch and skook are going to be good bets, and the native fish are coming in strong. Once the flows even out, the mainstems of the rivers will fish great, the terminal areas are going to be really good. Strong flows will get those fish past the nets.

As for the imposters, I got everything sorted out. The guys over there are brave folks, starting a new forum and all. I hope everything works out for them, it's a lot of work!

true that. I suspect it has something to do with the Boldt quota, 50/50 split. If sporties can harvest, then the tribes get their opportunity, and because we rarely use that single slot on our catch card, they get the "surplus".

cause they will allocate that take to the tribe. it all goes back to the systemic management philosophy of the wdfw that the only good fish is a harvestable dead fish. the ol minimum escapment to maintain a subpar status quo. this reason alone is a good reason to get involved. go to meetings, ask tough questions, be polite, but let them know we are pissed and unhappy with the current system. if you don't, there are plenty that will make the decision for you on the other side of the table.
