ill take a wild guess and say theyll probably open it, when there arent any kings in there. i bet theyll open it in early october. just a guess though..

from the verbiage in the E-mail that announced the open of the sky it sounds as though it WILL NOT open.

Reasons for action: Water flow and temperatures are back with the normal range for this time of year for most rivers so drought restrictions are being lifted. The Raging and Wallace rivers, and the Suiattle tributaries of Buck, Downey and Sulfur creeks, remain closed to provide additional protection to spawning Chinook. The South Fork Nooksack from the mouth to the mouth of Skookum Creek remains closed to protect spawning spring chinook and may reopen after peak spawn time.

they don't mention opening the Wallace after the peak of king spawning like they did with Skookum creek. I hope I am wrong, that is my Coho hook up river........now I will have to learn how to twitch for them in the sky....

without some real rain they wont open it with all the snaggers around, they will down scooping the fish in shopping carts.

Once the Chinook run peaks and the spawn is pretty much over WDFW will most likely open Wallace for Coho. We will have the rain needed by then anyways.

go back and look how much rain we had two years ago in October and with the "dry trend" we have been in we may not have rain by then......

im not sure rain even matters to them.. i think they want the kings gone, the water temp will inherantly be good by then due to the cooler nights. the wallace is usually low this time of year anyway, and there are already the less than savory anglers present regardless of what wdfw does (doesnt do). i firmly believe the wallace will open no later than oct 5

Excellent! that would be really cool. It is typically close to being this low this time of year and it always full kings when it opens. Last year it was so low the snaggers only could play under the cedar tree, unless they were under the bridge. Im talking hatchery area.

The last time I saw WDFW enforcement was at the Wallace opener 3 years ago and there was a snag fest going on and they only asked if any silvers had been seen and checked our credentials.

Skykomish River (Snohomish Co.) from mouth upstream to the confluence of the North and South Forks.

This means the upper skykomish is now open past the sultan river correct???

thats news to me, but yes, i think that mean the sky is open past the sultan. the forks are all the way up by index.

yes, as it says from mouth to the forks, the upper river is open.
