Anyone try crappie yet in Eastern WA this year?

Post by jbball50 » Sun Mar 06, 2016 4:44 pm

I hit up a pond yesterday and was able to scratch up 2 14" crappie. I thought it was about to turn on for an evening bite since I caught those two one right after the other but that's all that I was able to scrounge up. I was seeing if I could get a couple more since we're having a trip to Potholes for walleye in a couple weeks and thought I could get enough for a fry for our group. Probably a month away still for good fishing.

Been hammerin' them! Caught thirteen all 11"-13" on Presidents Day. That was the first batch of the year for me. I tried to post pics from my I phone, but it wouldn't accept them. I will transfer them to my laptop and then try again. Have been catching them consistently since.

Nice I really wasn't expecting much with it being cool still, guess I should've been going out there since last month. That was my first outing for the year, I might try again next weekend. I might have to get a new ultra light rod here, I didn't notice that my rod had snapped until after about 2 hours of fishing, I can't remember if that happened last year or while it was sitting in my car.

Finally was able to figure out the pictures. These were caught the last week of Feb.

Nice fish, one of the i82 ponds? Saw a guy fishing it today when I was leaving earlier that looked like he might've been going for crappie but didn't ask how he was doing, I was only able to get one bass there. Then I headed to Yakima and got a larger bass there, couldn't cast into the dang wind there to my spot for crappie.

Yeah, pond 4 is pretty good right now right before dark. I was out there for a little, but the cold wind drove me off!
