Newport vessels or minnkota trolling motor

Questions for you guys and gals, which trolling motor is better in quality the Newport vessels trolling motor or the minnkota trolling motor? I have a 14 foot aluminum boat and was thinking of purchasing a 55lbs thrust for it but I don’t know which one to get. Any advice and info will be greatly appreciated.

I've never heard of the Newport Vessels brand. Minn Kota has a strong reputation. I have a 40 lbs thrust MK for my 12' aluminum that I bought used. The only thing I've replaced is the shear pin for the prop (broken when I got it) and it's been a strong performer ever since.

Seems like Motor Guide and Minn Kota were always the main brands that I remember.
