Fishfinders
Fishfinders
I am looking for a fish finder for my toon would like all you fine folks opinions and ratings and recommendations for the best one and why. If you could list your top five in order which ones would you want and why.
RE:Fishfinders
There are already some really good threads about purchasing a new fish finder...do a search and search for "fish finders" and you come back with a lot of hits in the database...you can then read these threads...the Humminbird's are hard to beat because they are quality and stand up to tough fishing conditions.jamesf01 wrote:I am looking for a fish finder for my toon would like all you fine folks opinions and ratings and recommendations for the best one and why. I'm impressed with Hummingbird products...
As kuttkilla said, there are multiple threads. Just use the search function, check around what has been said, identify your price range and what you are looking for, then you can determine exactly what FF you want

And here's a thread that has models for around two bills. Humminbirds are SOLID units and last.

Is your "toon" a pontoon?jamesf01 wrote:I am looking for a fish finder for my toon would like all you fine folks opinions and ratings and recommendations for the best one and why. If you could list your top five in order which ones would you want and why.

I use a Lowrance X-67C in my little boat. Its color so thats nice. I paid $160 I think on a cabelas sale (before they opened the store and you have to pay tax online ), its $249 reg and I'd never pay reg price for it. Its pretty sweet though.

I have a Lowrance X85 in my Hewescraft and an Eagle in my Smokercraft. Both are great and work well. The Lowrance was about 450.00 and the Eagle was about 100.00. I don't think you have to spend a bunch of money to get a good product. Good luck.

RE:Fishfinders
$450 for a x-85, you sure?? Thats awfully high. I got a X-102 Color on the bow of my boat for 299, got that on sale on cabelas too. Man that unit looks old for that price. You could have probably got a slightly used LMS-480M with GPS for that price.
