What is with this weather?

Post by Coastfishin » Tue Apr 15, 2008 4:19 pm

This just came up on my desktop weather. WHEN WILL IT END?

SAN JUAN COUNTY-WESTERN WHATCOM COUNTY- SOUTHWEST INTERIOR- EAST PUGET SOUND LOWLANDS-WESTERN SKAGIT COUNTY-EVERETT AND VICINITY- SEATTLE/BREMERTON AREA- TACOMA AREA-ADMIRALTY INLET AREA- HOOD CANAL AREA-LOWER CHEHALIS VALLEY AREA- OLYMPICS- EASTERN STRAIT OF JUAN DE FUCA-WESTERN STRAIT OF JUAN DE FUCA- NORTH COAST-CENTRAL COAST-WEST SLOPES NORTHERN CASCADES AND PASSES- WEST SLOPES CENTRAL CASCADES AND PASSES- 451 PM PDT TUE APR 15 2008
...AN UNSEASONABLY COLD STORM SYSTEM WILL AFFECT WESTERN WASHINGTON THE END OF THIS WEEK...

A STRONG...COLD LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM DROPPING SOUTH OUT OF CANADA WILL USHER IN A COLDER AIR MASS THAT WILL RESULT IN UNSEASONABLY COLD TEMPERATURES AND PLUMMETING SNOW LEVELS BY THIS WEEKEND. DAYTIME TEMPERATURES ON FRIDAY WILL BE IN THE MID 40S TO LOWER 50S ACROSS THE LOWLANDS AND IN THE UPPER 20S TO MID 30S IN THE CASCADE PASSES. ON SATURDAY...DAYTIME TEMPERATURES ARE EXPECTED TO BE WINTER LIKE. DAYTIME TEMPERATURES ACROSS THE LOWLANDS ABOUT THIS TIME OF THE YEAR ARE NORMALLY IN THE MID 50S TO LOWER 60S.

THE SNOW LEVEL WILL ALSO PLUMMET TO NEAR SEA LEVEL LATE FRIDAY NIGHT... THUS IT IS LIKELY THAT ANY SHOWERS OVER THE LOWLANDS WILL CHANGE OVER TO SNOW OR A RAIN AND SNOW MIX. THE PRECIPITATION WILL CHANGE BACK OVER TO RAIN DURING THE DAY SATURDAY. THE THREAT FOR SNOW SHOWERS WILL CONTINUE ACROSS THE LOWLANDS LATE SATURDAY NIGHT AND EARLY SUNDAY MORNING.

IF ANY CLEARING OCCURS ACROSS THE LOWLANDS AT NIGHT...IT COULD ALLOW TEMPERATURES TO DIP INTO THE MID 20S AT SOME LOCALES...ESPECIALLY OVER THE SOUTHWEST INTERIOR. THEREFORE THOSE WITH FROST SENSITIVE NURSERY STOCK... ORNAMENTALS...OR VEGETABLES SHOULD MONITOR THE FORECASTS FROM THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE CLOSELY THE NEXT FEW DAYS

It better not be like this on opening day lol. I cannot wait until those consistent 65 degree days, mostly sunny, no wind. When will this come? Im tired of Canada's weather lol. If these storms were tangible, I think im up to the point where I would fight em.

Expecting snow all weekend over here on the east side of the state, and no more than mid-40s through the forseeable forecast period.

Can't paint the big boat, epoxy cures slow on the rowing shell, guess I better just go fishin, eh?

Here is the forcast for Yakima. So come on mother nature!!!! It is April for crying out loud, I'm ready for some warm temperatures, not SNOW. NO MORE SNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!

... Unusually cold weather expected this weekend and first of next week...

A low pressure weather system over western Canada will drop down
over the Pacific northwest this weekend bringing with it unusually
cold air for this time of year. Normal high temperatures this
time of year in the Columbia Basin are in the 60s. High temperatures
Saturday and Sunday are expected to be in the upper 40s to around
50 degrees. This will be about 15 degrees below normal. Record low
maximum temperatures for this time of year are in the mid 40s. Mountain
temperatures will be in the upper 20s and 30s which will be 15 to
20 degrees below normal.

This unusually cold air will also lead to freezing temperatures
overnight through the weekend and into the first of next week.
Care should be taken to protect plants... trees and other vegetation from
the freezing temperatures.

Snow levels will lower to the Columbia Basin floor resulting in
the possibility of light snow accumulations in the low elevations. The
unstable nature of the atmosphere will also lead to convective
showers which will produce brief intense snow showers and graupel
or small snow pellets. Some random strikes of lighting will be
possible from shallow low top thunderstorms in this atmosphere.

Stay tuned NOAA Weather Radio and monitor forecasts from the
National Weather Service for more information over the next
several days.
Remember two things, love Washington and leave only your footprints behind!

I guess that's true, bass have to eat something. Just mess'n with ya...kinda.

I'm not necessarily surprised by the weather as much as I am angry & frustrated with it. Is it really too much to ask to warm up the lakes? At this rate the spawn won't start until June/July.

I can see it now; in a few months we'll all be back here again complaining that it is too hot and hasn't rained for weeks.

Good news fellas. I'm looking at komo's forecast and it's calling for mid to upper 50's starting tuesday and getting warmer as the week progresses. So those of you who plan on going to the opener, it looks like it will be a decent weekend, if the weathermen stand correct, which you have to give them credit, theyve been pretty accurate when it comes to predicting the warmer days. I trust komo more than kiro though, only because I dont like that new anchor girl, She seems kind of snobby to me.
