Curado, the best thing you can do is start reading, and trying things. try google searching, start looking other places. this early in the run, not a whole lot of people are going to want to start telling people what, where, when, how. another place to ask is bait and tackle shops, the always have reports.
sorry if i came across like an ass.

1st: What are you doing? We can't tell you what you are doing wrong if we don't know what you are doing. The kings there are picky, and with the constant changes in temperature the river levels have been changing.curado wrote:I have seen lots of fish caugh but i have only had one on and 2 dam Squa fish can anybody give me any advice on what iam doing wrong so i can improve
If I were you, I'd get on a more salmon/steelhead oriented BB if you wanna learn a lot more. WL.com just doesn't have a lot of fishermen who fish for steelhead/salmon in the rivers on a regular basis. PM me if you want some ideas for other forums...

RE:Kings in the skykomish
Some tips if you are bank fishing: when the water is high and fast, fish close to the bank, look for slower/softer water (which will be near the bank), and use eggs and lots of scents
RE:Kings in the skykomish
i do, but the mouth of the wallace is a hard spot to fish and is the only decent spot to fish in that half mile strech. I might need to try a couple trips up their at an ealier time earlier than 7:45 and fish the first water

RE:Kings in the skykomish
the wallace has been like a 1 fish a day max thing as far as i have heard. try fishing lower in the river. high, fast water, you dont really want to fish right on the bank. if its high and fast, fish slow spots, current seams, and behind logs, root balls, things that break up the current. if you get to a spot before anyone else, stand 30-40 feet back and cast upstream right on the bank, maybe 3 feet(5 feet MAX!!!) away from the bank.
RE:Kings in the skykomish
i pulled 6 jacks out of there yesterday kept 1 of the 6 because its the first one i got all year and it was legal size

Nice job.curado wrote:i pulled 6 jacks out of there yesterday kept 1 of the 6 because its the first one i got all year and it was legal size
Those jacks that you threw back, were they under 12 inches?
RE:Kings in the skykomish
2 were the rest were about 12.5 to 14 inches all on small chunks of sand shrimp about the size of a quarter and size 4 hooks. my leader was 8 lbs. so maybe that had something to do with it. But those jacks were extra special because it was on my new rod.
