Looking for a good crabbing pier in south sound area.

Post by swifty » Mon Dec 01, 2008 1:38 am

Does anybody know of a good location to throw a crab ring off a pier. I'd like to stay in area 13 (South Sound). I was looking at Joemma beach out on the key peninsula, has anyone tried crabbing off that pier? Also, what part of the tide is best for crabbing?

Thanks, Swifty

Have you looked at the Fox Island pier? A bit of a trek, but it's a nice little place. Never crabbed there, so not sure what it's like in that regard. Incoming tide is usually considered best time, but have had luck on both incoming and outgoing tides. Good luck.

According to what I'm reading area 13 was part of the winter season this year, that would be a Southern area.
