I need desperate help with winter fishing

Post by garret1990 » Fri Jan 09, 2009 4:33 pm

I have been fishing everyday for about three hours during 12 and 3 P.M. for the past week and I haven't caught anything. I live on Black Lake in Olympia so that is the lake I fish. There are large and smallmouth bass and rainbow trout with some crappie. So basically I just want to catch something! Can anyone please help me? Im in desperate need :(

P.S. Please include rigs that work also if you know any, thank you!

Where do you fish (what part of the lake)? I do well at black lake with a night crawler floated 2' off the bottom add a green power egg and some shrimp/anise smelly jelly.

Hope it helps

Well I fish from shore where Columbia Park is. And I fish a rainbow colored powerbait. By the way, what is the depth you are fishing would you say?

I would start at 19 inches and go up to 24 if that doesn't work. The trout seem to hold deeper on Black . I would also try across from the store and at the far end both places produce!

:bounce: First take a water temp of the lake for a few days after the floods and rise of water.
Then take one or 2 trips with good electronics around the lake cover it all and chart most of it :compress: doing a study on depths, structure and where your marking more numbers of fish.
Then PM me will settle on getting you hooked up and kills or releases:colors:
Purchase at least a canoe and fishing electronic buddy your in!!! LOL

Try the dock across from the grocery store. A buddy of mine swears by orange power bait and 18 inches of leader w/egg sinker. good luck.

What size weight is good for a egg sinker? And is there crawfish in Black Lake? I heard there was.

Thanks!

I say use a Nightcrawler. All fish love nightcrawlers.Use a slip sinker and a mallow or inject air into the end of the worm so it floats up.If theres a fish in there it will hit. There are Crwfish in almost all streams too.I find them just about every body of fresh water in Wa.

When youre up to your rear end in alligators, its hard to remember that the initial plan was to drain the swamp.
