Amazing Opening Day

Post by fishingmachine » Tue Apr 28, 2009 1:39 pm

AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thats all that can describe this opening day for me and my buddy. We went out at 8am and started fishing with flies on the surface first fish on 30 seconds later. This was the way it went the whole day as we proceeded to catch and release 135 trout. Yes you read it right 135!!!!!!!!!! I was truely amazed. My forearms are sore from catching so many fish. What an opening day. Fish were anywhere from 8-12 inches.

What lake were you at?

He said, “Throw your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some.” When they did, they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish.

I have a question, doesn't catch and realease count as your daily limit of trout caught? Isn't the limit 5 fish? Not sure just questions...

Counts as limit only when using bait or scented lures. No bait or scent and you can C&R all day long unless otherwise stated in regs.

I drew the original concept on Friday and then had some problems with the scanner. When the scanner finally worked correctly the original drawing was put away and re-done completely.

The whole week I said no way was I going to any lakes as it will be a zoo. And like always I bother going anyways. I started at lake Serene and had a few hits and did land one, then went to Martha Lake (Alderwood) where I finished off my limit.

What was funny (well kind of was) one father had loosened the drag on his spinning reel at the end of last year, and his daughter and his daughter loosened it even further before dad prepared to cast. So on his first cast the part popped off the reel and the line basically shot off all over the place ....

I wasn't able to keep a straight face after that.... I wasn't laughing at him but rather the fact that my character had the same thing happen ---- well kind of.

Only if you are using bait. Using flies, lures, unsented, you can catch and release all day.
Too much water, so many fish, too little time.
