Lifes passions other than fishing

So what does everyone do everyone enjoy doing with their time when your not fishing. In the fall and winter I watch college football and basketball. I watch a ton of movies and my IPOD never leaves my side. I also love goofing of on the PS2.

The last two years I re-discovered my passion for playing guitar and making music. And compared to 30 years ago there is so much more for the amatuer musician to play around with. I discovered Sony's Acid Music software and their website. So I have a second interest that really competes hard with my fishing and website interest! You can check out my tunes here (and some are featured on my videos):

If I'm not obsessing over fishing or thinking about fishing or cleaning out my tackle boxes (yes, boxes...one for the truck and one main one), I'm playing with my kids and coaching soccer, I even mix in a men's softball league on Wednesday nights for giggles.

I enjoy football season and everything surrounding football. The cold, the rain the holidays (gaining 10 lbs.), everything.

My avatar has 3 of my five loves. Not pictured is my wife and 1 yr. old son. Lifes good.

Sex, Drugs and Rock and Roll baby! What else would someone want to do besides fish. J/K

I love hanging out with my wife and baby boy. We hang with friends and family a lot when we aren't traveling or just relaxing and enjoying life. I also enjoy sports, movies and good food. My ideal day would look like this, fish in the morning, hang out with my kid in the afternoon, catch a ball game with friends, then travel somewhere nice for a good dinner with the wife.
Also, as you can tell I like the computer and really like to learn new things and reinforce the things that I have already learned. And this applies to everything in life, not just fishing.
And I like meeting new people all the time.

I love riding motorcycles, spending time with family, watching/playing rugby (still trying to find a team around here), and Barbequeing just about everything. I am actually the VP of one a regional Ducati motorcycle club (FCDucati.com) and also ride a cruiser for commuting. I'd played rugby for the U of Az and for the Charleston, SC Outlaws and am pretty much a fanatic.

Mike- You may know my father-in-law, Ken Bullo. He's been rock'n since the days when Heart was White Sail (he was their guitarist back then.) He still lives in Redmond. The two of you ought to jam together sometime.

Mike have you been in Seattle for a very long time. If so are you familiar with a Seattle band called Rail? They use to tour with Van Halen. They actually still get together. Anyway I work with their drummer.

I would like to point out that although I love music and listen to all types I have zero musical talent. Its kind of a bummer. If I ever had the chance and the ability I would like to learn to play the violin.

1998 American / Maple

The Mex. tele's are nice. I got a smokin deal on this one or I would've bought a Mexican one. At my skill level, can't tell the difference.

I am on the board of directors for a non profit called Reading With Rover (www.readingwithrover.org). It is a childrens literacy program where kids who are behind level on thier reading skills read books to dogs. There is no intimidation factor like there is when reading to an adult, so the kids relax and are able to catch up on their reading skills. I also have a therapy dog, we visit schools, hospitals, nursing homes, etc. and I teach classes for people who want to do the same with thier dogs and I am an evaluator for the Delta Society (www.deltasociety.org). Beyond that - My wife and I enjoy traveling, she is from Mexico so she is showing me her country and I am showing her mine. I am also into music - though the only thing I can play is the radio. I am a Seattle native - I remember Rail, I also remember seeing Alice in Chains play at the Central Tavern in Pioneer Square, Pearl Jam at the Moore, Mad Season at Rock Candy, Hammerbox at the OK Hotel, the list goes on and on..
I fish not because I regard fishing as being terribly important, but because I suspect that so many of the other concerns of men are equally unimportant, and not nearly so much fun. ~ John Volker

Obviously fishing is number one on my favorite activities. Besides that though, I do a lot of slalom waterskiing/ wakeboarding in the summer on the Snake River behind my parents boat -- I'm too poor to afford a boat at this junction in my life. I do a lot of ATV riding with my father and grandfather -- Once again, I can't afford one of those either, so I have to borrow. Hiking, messing around on the computer (aka washingtonlakes.com), cooking, hanging out with friends and going to the beach are also activities I quite enjoy. Also, I would be lost without music. I am a music junkie. Anything/ everything, I pretty much listen to it!

Did he play a strat with a distortion pedal box and was the lead guitar player? I saw Heart back when they were just hitting it big in Madison, Wisconsin. I think this would be around 77-78? I got front row right next to the guitar player. He was excellent! I couldn't hold a candle to him but man it would be cool to meet him. Wonder if he is the same guy?

No, not familar with this band. Another cool rock and roll connection. Fishing and rock n roll, as American as Apple Pie. :-)

Mike-
Unfortunately no... He left the band just before they got signed due to the birth of my wife. It was either go on tour or raise a family, he obviously chose the latter. He sometimes stands in with The Blue Notes and various other bands- an axe for hire so to speak. If you've ever seen them, he would have been the outrageously musclebound guy playing the blue Les Paul.

Ha ha! Thanks TNJ.. Went to school with Mike - in high school he was in a band called Sato (I think that was the name), anyway he was completely full of himself and treated everyone like crap. I am sure he has grown up at least a little since then but I have no desire to find out for myself. Back in the 80's to early 90's I was able to meet many of the people that made the Seattle music scene great, out of all of em, he was the least likely to be someone I would hang out with. wow - I'm getting old...

EastsideRN - 2 things.. I also ride - prefer longer trips (my goal is an Iron butt patch), if you are interested and don't mind riding with a Harley (2005 Road King Custom) we can take a day trip - maybe even strap on a couple breakdown poles and a cooler and drop a line here and there.. and my buddy has been playing rugby on the eastside for years now - if you want I can get you in touch with him.

:bounce: Well when im not fishing im working .. I moved out here because my mother started her own business over in Bellevue , We run a Collection Company .. we have contracts with the state of washington and some national retail chains ... I prefer not to go into detail because i do talk to alot of folks in my surrounding area regarding Bad Debt and other Bills ... having those stressing conversations with people day in and out i really depend on fishing to mentally get a break and clear my thoughts ... I also play golf during fall and winter months , this helps me to deal with cabin fever when the fishing season is closed .. My friend has a nice resturant in downtown seattle and my wife and i go there alot for great food and live jazz music ..I have to admit i am a bassoholic , there isn't a day that goes by that i dont think about fishing or going through my tackle ....:-({|=

Lets see when I'm not fishing I enjoy hanging with the ol' lady when she is not in a bad mood and racing rc cars. I race electric and play around with the gas powered ones. Other than that you will be able to find me on a lake or in the sheet metal shop on McChord AFB performing my job tasks for the USAF.
