What's happened with the fishing report?

Post by kinghunter » Wed Jan 13, 2010 7:52 pm

Did everyone stopped fishing? Or are they just not reporting? I know for myself I haven't been able to go out due to the wife complaining not spending enough time with the family. I wonder how many others have the same problem and what kind of buttering up you do to get out besides just the usual honey chores. LOL.

Hey, I'm still fishin'!! Just went down to the puyallup today for a few. Took my oldest son with me ( that's one of the tricks I use to butter up the wifey!). Sometimes you just gotta tell her you need some time to fish. When all else fails, I've found that the truth can be pretty convincing. Good luck, cya on the water and tight lines bro!

Sometimes I pull the reverse psychology trick. Stay in with your kids one night/day whatever, but send her out to a movie or appetizers with a friend. 1 or 2 nights during the week of that, and you should find yourself on an all day river trip.

(sometimes it's just easier to give a little of ourselves first,, and then usually your other half sees the good turn and does the same)

About 6 weeks ago my wife went to Portland for 3 days... Whoo Hooo!! because when she got back I got a 3 day trip Eastern WA.

It sounds like you guys didn't put the "I go fishing when I want to go fishing" rule into your pre nuptial agreement. :-({|=

Well, the time off from school is over and it has warmed up into the fortys, melting all the snow and ice on the lakes around Okanogan County. All roads and fields are slushy frog ponds and it's not supposed to cool back down for another week. This warm front has kinda made a mess of things over here to some extent. Rufus Woods access or anywhere else over here is not a problem, though.:-({|=

BINGO!!!

I have only fished once since the Mayfield Open. I decided to do some work to the boat, parked it and pulled everything out. Im eagerly waiting for warm sunny days to get back out there.

My fishing will restart when they start refilling Lake Tapps.

And, as far as the wife thing and being able to go fishing goes... my wife is leading the charge when we go.

As far as she is concerned... we dont go nearly enough.

For myself, just focusing on stuff that needs to get done prior to the Show.

I will say, our report numbers are double last year, with a whole LOT of new anglers reporting on river fishing trips, which is pretty cool to see.

Yeah, I think Quad has the ticket. Equal time for her away. Although, when I grab the kids and go I usually get no slack for it.

I think a whole bunch of people took time off last month and now it's time to catch up and get things done. Good luck at the show Mike, hope to see you there.
I like it when I can call it Catching!

See, this is why I don't get re-married. Been there, done that, got the straight jacket... er T-Shirt.

That said, my current GF likes to fish more than I do, and my kids are old enough to drag along now. Recently, just haven't had the time, and at some points, the money, to go as much as we'd like. Holidays are expensive and I'm trying really hard to stop with the credit cards.

Good topic Kinghunter. I consider myself very lucky. My honey totally understands my obsession. She thinks it's cute when I am pre-tying leaders and organizing my gear for the next day on a friday or saturday night. And it totally helps being the biggest pouter in the world, so I have that going for me too.   :cyclopsan

Rain Rain and more rain.I think the steelhead fishermen and women pray to the Good Lord so hard for a good rain when rivers are low that the Lord delivers.I feel were all good folks in here and He (or She) listens to our prayers.Maybe Mike and Aaron should do a Prayer Thread to counter this problem. We could then moniter the prayers a lil. No rivers for me this weekend. The inner bays around the mouths are starting to brown up also.Either Whidbey or Lk Wa this weekend.
When youre up to your rear end in alligators, its hard to remember that the initial plan was to drain the swamp.

Hahaha, when I try to pout, my wife basically treats me like my kids, TIME OUT. She doesn't tolerate child like behavior from an adult. You guys are lucky you still have a young wife that don't know any better YET!!!
