I use a St.Croix Medium light, fast action rod.
Shimano has an interesting line up for drop shot rods, I'm thinking of getting one. They have a feel thru blank to increase sensitivity.

What plastics and sizes work well with the dropshot? I saw 3 inch senkos. Anything else? I have black/gold 3'' slug-gos. They look pretty good for the job.

Honestly, you can drop-shot anything just as long as your hooks large enough to go through your plastic.
I use 4"cut-tail worms, roboworms in straight and curly tail, grubs and tubes also mini brush hogs.

I use the Shimano Crucial Dropshot rod and the sensativity is great especailly with 10lb powerpro and 8lb flouracarbon line. I was a little concern about the extra fast action on it, but I'm used to it now. If you like a rod that loads up when the fish is on then this is not the rod for you.
