Me and my dad hit the cascade early this morning. rained all night which brought the river up nicely. I went 1/3 and my dad went 1/1. he also released a not so dark silver. I think im gonna start using bigger hooks. The first one swallowed it which is probably why I landed it, but I hated losing the other two. and btw, its ALL about the shirt.

I was finally successful! This is my third winter trying, but all that time finally paid off this morning. I was amazed to get the first one fishing a light pink/black marabou jig under a float. It was 29" and fought much harder than I'd expected. Bent the hook pretty well. Had a little time left to keep fishing so tried again and managed to land another (a bit smaller than the first) with the same bent jig (glad it held) . WOOHOO! First Steelhead and first limit! [thumbsup]

Congrats to BentRod for his first and double too! Took me a while to do both of those when I started!

Be careful fighting those steelhead, learned my lesson of losing steelhead from bent hooks. Get quality jigs and don't winch them in! PM me if interested in quality jigs, I buy my on line.

Seems like everyone is doing MUCh better on steelhead this year!!! lots of fish returning, its a very good thing. Well my river is getting super crowded, so its starting to suck, but managed a limit yesterday, and my buddy lost 2 right next to the bank, and landed 1. heres the pictures!!!
