Boat Launch Suggestion

Post by Big Smooth » Wed Jul 22, 2009 12:58 pm

Here is my issue. I live in Buckley and really really would like to fish Area 10 and 9 for some salmon this weekend or next.
If you have a suggestion of an easy boat launch for the area, I'd appreciate it. I'm still battling the drive, but I don't want to do it and be lost when it comes to getting my boat afloat.
Thanks for your time.

Steve

Don Armeni ramp in West Seattles Harbor Ave S.W. One of the nicer launchs is Shilshole Bay launch. If you want to fish Fauntleroy to Southworth to Duwamish use the West Seattle Ramp. If youre doing 4 mile rock or Westpoint or Bainbridge launch in Shilshole.Mukilteo has a ramp but I think Shilshole and west Seattle are my favs.

When youre up to your rear end in alligators, its hard to remember that the initial plan was to drain the swamp.

My 2 cents, if you go as far as Mukilteo go all the way to Everett. The muk launch is a tough one for some people, tides and the close proximity to the ferry dock.

Depending on where you want to fish in these areas and the type of boat you have will make it easier for us to give you a ramp to use. Don Armani in Elliot bay is the easiest to find for area 10 on the East side of the Sound, but it's a long haul to area 9 from there and Shilshole might make for a better boating experience. As for launching in area 9, I don't like the drive to the Everett launch and I really don't care to pay through the nose to sling launch at Edmonds. The Mukilteo launch is a crap shoot with limited facilities, perhaps someone can provide some up to date info on it.

Sorry, I thought about it but my thoughts woundered to hopefully getting my rod wet.
16.5' Lowe boat. Deep V so I usually have no issues with it being too small in the south sound. I stay off the water in rough weather just in case.
The 90horse moves her along and the gas gage doesnt seem to budge much. I'm not against Everett, but if I'm fishing the ship wreck ( that is Humpy Hollow?? right?) area I was wondering if people found Everett too far. I didn't know about Mukilteo...

everett to hummpy hollow is not a bad run. I would launch there, when the tides are flowing, it can make Mukilteo real had to get into.( the current rips there)
