Opening Day This Weekend!! Open Seats

"Opening Day" this weekend!! Those Largemouth that have not had any pressure for half the year should be on fire this weekend. All the South Sound Lakes I fish will be opening this weekend, Long Lake, Hicks Lake, and Patterson. With the weather we have been having, we should have some big hawgs up shallow and easy to catch!

Trout swimbaits, Jigs, big senkos, and big trout colored spinnerbaits should be the ticket on all the trout stocked lakes this weekend and for the next couple of weeks. That chance for a huge female Largemouth is right now through the end of May.

Silver Lake, American Lake, and a few other "special" Tacoma area lakes are starting to kick out some real nice fish too.


The Potholes open was this past weekend, and the fishing is hot. It took 47 lbs. to win for both days, and here is a picture of the two 5.5lb.+ smallmouth I caught.

I wish I could afford to drive that far. I'm out of gas for this month. Maybe 2 more trips to the local lake then push the truck to the gas station come May 1st when I get my retirement check.

I have Sunday booked up on Long Lake, but Saturday "Opening Day" is still open for any lake. The way the weather is going, we could be in for some really good fishing this weekend!
