I fished Carlisle Lake opening day from 1:30 to 4:30 pm. I only landed four, but three of the four were triploids. The lake was extremely crowded on the side that the boat launch/parking lot/school is on, as was expected. I fished among the masses for half an hour, casting a spoon, and only got one hit. I was one of the only hardware chuckers among dozens of bait fisherman. I eventually moved to the other side of the lake (I say "lake", it's really an old mill pond) where after trampling though some brush I had a huge stretch of bank all to myself.
I switched from a spoon to a spinner and got seven or eight hits; landing four of the fish. The approx. sizes in order of being caught were 14, 14, 8, and 15.5 inches. The second triploid was one of those ones that looks like it'd been hitting the gym (big chest and shoulders). All fish were released. All in all it was a great opening day-- I was very happy my first fish of the season was able to pull a little bit of line from my drag.
Pictures: The first picture is of the first 14-incher. It didn't want to hold still long enough to take a decent photo. After it's initial spaz-out I bobbled it once or twice before it dove back into the lake and took off. The second picture is of the 15.5-incher; it hit my spinner about 10-feet from shore.
