After a long day of Mandantory work related meetings, Wife (after a 10 hour shift) and I headed over to Roses Lake up By Manson. When we left home, the lake (Chelan) was whipped up into nasty whitecaps, BUT when we got up to Manson, the wind was just a light breeze. Got onto Roses around 6ish, and headed to south end. Water temp of 72-75 and water clarity to about 6 feet. As I was setting the bow mount trolling motor, Cindy was busy riggin her rod with fresh jig. I told her she had better hurry if she wanted to catch the first fish, and as I was tying on a new jig head, she shouts "First Fish ON". No big deal, we're fishing for panfish, so I was surprised when she said, I may need the net on this one. I looked up and her Eagle Claw Feather-lite rod was arched to max, and the 4# test P-Line was peeling off the lil Shimano ultra-lite reel like we was in the salt. After a great battle we boated a nice 5# 12oz cat. Quite the workout on lite gear. First Cast, and First fish, what a way to get away from the stress of everyday workplace. We continued to fish untill sundown, and caught a collection of yellow perch, bluegill, crappie and bass. Average size fish, but plenty big enough to fillet. Came away from the trip with a couple quart size baggies of fillets, a catfish, and feeling relaxed. Do we live in paradise or what.
I will try to attach a photo.
