Today was a no-pressure, easy day of limits with a bonus on Roses Lake. I fished with Aaron, Andrew, and Anton Jones of Darrell and Dad’s Family Guide Service. Anton guides on Roses lake – which is to say he offers this trip as a change up from deep water Chelan lakers for your kids where the parents want to get on the water and be assured the kids will catch fish and have a lot of fun. For us it was a chance to relax and do something I don’t do much of – fish with bait.
We started around 8am and the bite was good from the start. Baits were Patzke dough balls, marshmallows, and worms, on a slip weight. Action was steady for 10-14” planter rainbows. No carry-overs but I did catch a nice 5 pound channel cat. That was a lot of fun on light gear! Limits were had by all.
Thanks Anton for a fun day on the water and great end to our Chelan weekend. BTW, if you’re looking for a nice place to stay, Anton and his wife Sandy have “The Fisherman’s Hide-away” with three bedrooms, kitchen, and bath. Separate entrance so you can come and go, and a great view of Lake Chelan. It’s definitely something for you to consider on your next trip to Chelan.
