Trout action continues to be consistent on this lake. I use a single tiny split shot and a fly OR a little larger split shot and two yellow power eggs. I troll the fly as slow as possible. The power eggs I cast out and let sink to the bottom, if I don't get bit I row a few times and stop allowing them to sink again, I'm not sure this will ever not produce?! So far if I wanted to I could limit out every time I wanted to using the power eggs!

I release all fish at the boat so no pics and yes I only catch 5 if I'm using bait....usually takes less than an hour.

Are you catching many holdover trout? I have caught only the small plants out of Ki.

I've caught a couple so far including 1 I would estimate at 3lbs! Especially when using the Power Egg technique anywhere from 20-40 feet deep. 30' seemed to be the magic depth when it was bright and sunny, with them moving closer to the 20 range with the cloudy conditions.

8theB8,

I have seen a few of your reports and was wondering if you could point me in the right direction for some good largemouth/smally fishing. I was out on Lake Ki this morning but had no luck what so ever (even though I have heard that there are Largemouth in that lake). I am originally from upstate NY, moved out here a few years ago and just finally got myself a boat to do some fishing. I am just not sure where to go for some good bass fishing since most people out here fish for trout or salmon. I'm not looking for you to give away your "honey holes", just some good lakes in Snohomish county to have some fun on. I am used to east coast (finger lakes) bass fishing and from what I have been reading, they are a whole different breed of bass out here...they spawn sooner and tend to hang out in a little bit deeper water than their eastern brothers. Thanks in advance for any tips you can offer and good luck on the water.
