Was on the lake bright and early. Messed around with some bass fishing for a few hours, but then switched to trolling for trout. I had just got some trolling flies in the mail the day before, so I wanted to try them out. Boy did they like those flies!
The south end of the lake, across from the boat launch, was the hot place. I had an orange fly on one pole and a red one on the other. Both got fish, but the orange one was the most popular. Twice I had fish hit the fly as I was letting line out, not even 20 feet back from the boat.
It was fun to see and feel the big bites that these trout have with flies. Will definitely add them to my fishing routine!

I did not tie the flies. I purchased them online. Not sure if I'm supposed to share the name of the place I purchased them. I actually had the wiggle fin with both flies, it just didn't show up in the pic. I highly recommend them!

Nice report....so are you a spin or baitcast style or fly style? Or both?

If you trolled these flies with a Spinning outfit, did you use any weight at all because I noticed the wiggle device in front of the fly. Thanks!

I used a spinning setup for one, and a baitcaster for the other. No weight used, I just added a bead in between to give a small amount of separation. The wiggle device took the flies under enough to give them lots of action. There really wasn't a difference in how far back I put the flies. The fish hit them at 20 feet behind the boat as well as 100 feet.
